Re: Steering shudder on braking

Carel, best practice in a situation like that is to jack the vehicle up and let it stand on trestles so the wheels are off the ground. I've also seen "tyre shoes" or something like that advertised. Basically a set of blocks you drive tye car onto and then the tyre rests in a semi-circular cutout in...

Re: Steering shudder on braking

Finally got this solved last week. Had the brake discs skimmed by Nissan agent, fitted new pads - smooth as glass.

Odd thing is that the problem only manifested when it came back from its last service - by an aftermarket service shop. Prior to being dropped off for a service it was normal. Weird.

Re: Shadecloth cover radiator

I can also tell you that most radiators I service for the farmers with their L/cruisers and so on, they all have huge amount of grass and crap sucked in between the Radiator and Condenser. This is because of that green nets they use. The problem is that net goes from underneath the hood to the bott...

Re: Shadecloth cover radiator

Re grass and exhausts, pay special attention to the catalytic convertor. They operate at very high temperatures.

Re: Shadecloth cover radiator

It can be very difficult – even with shade cloth – to keep grass seeds out of radiators. I have been there. Despite my best efforts to fit shade cloth and keep the grass seed out of the radiator, driving through miles of virgin veld (no roads) left me with a very blocked radiator. It didn't cause an...

Okay, so much for that. It turns out that I'm still on the look for a GRX alloy wheel.

Re: GRX Alloy Wheel

Many thanks indeed for the advice Malcolm. I have used all options in the past. And I do have decent tyre levers and I have taken tyres off and refitted them, using a decent high flow compressor. I even have a pair of tyre pliers in my kit for bead breaking. I really have two options for the additio...

Re: GRX Alloy Wheel

Yip, I would go the refurb route. It should come out good as new. On the worry of not having a spare - I’m sure someone on the forum can offer their spare to you for just in case. I would offer mine, but she gets used at least twice a week, so I can’t allow myself to be stranded. Thanks Graham. I'v...
