Re: 4.8 Alternator upgrade.

The easiest is to contact Graham @ Gtech and get a refurb/reman unit. I investigated some very expensive options, some with ridiculous lead times, but opted for the original part that was refurbed.

Re: New Generic Alternator Fitted - Should I repair the Orig

Thanks a lot/Dankie/Kealeboga I did not even notice the 100A on the Hitachi. My car is equipped with wiring to power a fridge, thus will have to keep that in mind when measuring. Any suggestions where to obtain the diodes and regulator for the Hitachi? I see the other posts talking about Sparx...

New Generic Alternator Fitted - Should I repair the Original

Last week, we had some bad luck with the Patrol ('99 4.5 GRX) breaking down while my wife was picking up the kids from school, while I was away for business in another province. It became apparent very quick that the alternator was the culprit. The regulator and diodes were shot. A quick c...

Re: Extracting a broken exhaust stud

Hi Peter, I now also have a broken stud on the patrol (99 4.5 petrol). Last stud closest to the firewall. I need to prepare to take it out and replace the stud. Searching the forum brought me your challenge of 2012. Did you ever manage to remove it? What did you do? What shouldn't I even try? Do I n...

Re: 1999's Alarm Remote Replacement

Ek dink jy het nou ons aandag getrek :oldtimer:

Jy het nie dalk a wiring diagram gemaak toe jy dit ingesit het nie?

Of, hoe het jy gou bepaal hoe om die nuwe stelsel te bedraad?

Re: 1999's Alarm Remote Replacement

Hi Florian I picked up a battery the other day in Roodepoort at an Auto-Electrician (radios, tracking systems etc) for R20 while looking for someone to repair/replace the spare. The lady at the counter even opened the remote and fitted the battery for me. She had numerous in stock so it tells me it ...
