I got a TD42 motor basically for free from someone on the forum, in the process of reconditioning it but the pump and injectors needs to be replaced. I am not in a massive hurry.

I agree the td42 is a better option but could not find one, reason i am swapping is the fuel consumption and lack of power with a turbo and intercooler on the diesel it can be sorted out.

Peter, I have contacted every importer in JHB and PTA and nobody have them. Some of the Cabstars also came out with the TD42ti but no luck finding a wrecked one.

Commercial Auto Parts in Shelby used to have them with a warranty but not anymore.

What do you guys think about a Navara 2.5dci motor and Auto box in the GQ, provided its possible to mate the transfer case to the Auto box or replace the complete Engine, gearbox and transfer box with the Navara`s. 145Kw and 450 Nm is much better than what the current petrol 4.2 produces.
