Re: Patrol TB45E engine overhaul

For all those who are following my post, this will be my last post here, because it's finally :woo: finished! I'm currently breaking in my "new" engine got 300kms on her so far, and all going well... I'm saving up for a new stainless exhaust with branches (R5300 - quote from TNT) as the ol...

Re: Patrol TB45E engine overhaul

Thanks for the advice Grant, I took it and bought the clutch from Nissan... My local dealer matched the discount offered by your tip; but it was still R5K! I bought the original timeing chain and tensioner from Nissan as well... I get my engine back from the engineering shop today; so I'll start re-...

Re: Patrol TB45E engine overhaul

Just thought I'd post a status update to keep you all posted... I've removed the block and uncovered a collapsed bearing in piston 1 (the horrible knocking sound I'm sure)... I've taken the block to a local engineering firm and they suggested a re-sleeve rather than a re-bore as the pistons are all ...

Re: Patrol TB45E engine overhaul

Patrol TB45E engine overhaul

Hi, I am new to this forum so please excuse my lack of technical etiquette :-) I purchased a 2000 4.5 GRX Patrol in September 2009 with +-200 000kms on the clock from a private owner in Richards Bay; I've driven it for a year with little hassle... (I only payed a 100K for it...) A couple of weeks ag...
