A Brief History of the Nissan Patrol
Ever since I took delivery of my Patrol, I have been fascinated by the history of the Nissan Patrol. I am no historian and the information below was based solely on internet research so I would welcome any corrections and improvements. _______________________________________________________________...

Re: GQ needed by research couple in Kgalagadi
As is so often the case, it is difficult to be able to make absolute statements in favour of the one or the other for all applications. Leaf springs allow simpler designs, because in addition to providing vertical suspension, they can do the job of locating the axle both longitudinally and laterally...

Re: Drivetrain vibrations
Yes, the AUTO position of the hubs is fine for light duty use, but when the going gets tougher, it is best to select the LOCK position to prevent the generation of shock loads due to unlocking and relocking when torque reversals are experienced.

Re: 1998 GRX stock speakers?
'98 Trolls have a 5.5"/6" in the doors. They are piddly little 30w 6ohm jobbies that will distort and blow out if you just look at them funny. The 1998/1999 GRX actually has 6.5" speakers in each of the four doors. They are Clarion 4 Ohm dual cone units that are rated at 30W (peak) and 15W (nominal...

Re: TIPTRONIC IGNORANCE
It is not possible to start an automatic vehicle by towing it in gear. It is possible to tow it, though: place the transfer box in neutral and then the transmission is isolated from the rest of the drivetrain.
