Re: What compressor?

Gareth, I have no issues with the unit getting hot, the coupling between the compressor and the hose is getting piping hot, but the compressor head not that high. I also believe how long it lasts has far more to do with how you treat it than with which one you bought. Keep it dry and dust-free and ...

Re: What compressor?

I'm currently using a 70l T-Max compressor. It's a nice size physically and does a decent job on the 33's. But if it ever konks in I'll have a look at the 160l compressor at Adendorfs. At R1600 they're a real steal.

Re: Is this towbar safe?

Peter is correct. That towbar is the same as the one on my Patrol. It is attached to the place where the pintle hook is attached on the GQ Patrol's. It is attached through the bumper into only the rearmost chassis crossmember, not at all to the chassis legs. The towbar portion is in most cases stron...

Re: Is this towbar safe?

Although, I notice only now, that the reinforcement at the back is rather low. It could thus have been caused by a low down knock in reverse.

Re: Is this towbar safe?

I have no worries about that drop plate itself. Those things are mild steel or at most boiler plate, which doesn't really lose any strength when bent. However that towbar setup is only rated for 500 or 750kg due to the way it is mounted to the vehicle. You need to either replace it with one that mou...
