Re: New to this forum- Need some advice please

looking at specification sheets it would seem they are very similar vehicles. Both have large, straight six engines, live axles and coil springs all round. But there are lots of detail differences. The Patrol's axles are far more robust. The gearboxes and transfer cases are legendary. The track leng...

Re: New to this forum- Need some advice please

It is possible to fit about 200l of tankage under the Patrol.

But you may have to have custom tanks made to get there.

ARB make a selectable locker and there are a couple of auto lockers available.

Re: New to this forum- Need some advice please

My preference...

1. 4.2 Turbo diesel
2. 3.0 - with CRD motor (2014 model upwards)
3. 4.8 GL as I prefer manual
4. 4.8 GRX if you want the luxuries and auto
5. 4.5 GRX manual if you cant get a 4.8 in your budget
6. 4.2 only of you want the GQ shape

Both were turbo'ed 4.2 diesels, both were 1999 models and both had similar km on them. They also had v...
