Dirty Air Filter. Post Namibia Trip

Late yesterday afternoon I finally had a gap to sort out a few things on the Troll. One of the "to-do" items was to check my KNN airfilter. We did a 28-day 7,000 km trip from CPT to the very north of Namibia and back in July of this year so I knew there would be dirt in the filter, but I had no idea...

Re: Kaokoland 2021

We did a very similar trip in July of this year, except we started and ended in CPT. We also planned to stay in Sesfontein on the loop back from Van Zyl's, but when we got there we skipped it and went straight to Kamanjab and stayed for 2-days to rest, recover, and do some maintenance on the vehicle...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

Hi Hugh very cool, almost did the same after my Epupa trip, but the costs were outrageous back in 2010. Maybe prices have come down with scale, can you give us an indication of costs for the Browne Davis tanks? Thank you John R39k all-in. R28k for the two tanks. The rest is import, courier, and fit...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

I see the Browne Davis is aluminium coated SS, not sure what the advantage is... From what I read aluminum doesn't do well as a fuel holder. Some chemical reaction with fuel over an extended period. The SS handles flexing and bending and doesn't degrade due to contact with the fuel like aluminum. T...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

So I finally dropped the Troll off at R&D for the tanks to be fitted. 2 week delay due to shipping was unexpected, but it is what it is. The tanks are due to arrive tomorrow and the vehicle is already on the hoist ready for fitment.
